About Us

In 1989, a group of caring community volunteers gathered to discuss how they could help the students of Danville Public Schools achieve their dreams.   The Danville Public School Foundation was soon established with the purpose to “promote, aid, and encourage educational purposes, activities and endeavors of every kind and description for the students of the Danville Public Schools, beyond those provided by tax dollars.” The Danville Public School Foundation is a 501 (c) (3), tax exempt organization and as such your donations are tax deductible.  The Danville Public School Foundation Board operates independently of Danville Public School District 118 and receives no direct tax support.  We rely on the generosity of our donors to complete our mission. Our board is comprised of 15 at large voting members, who are volunteers from the community and three non-voting members representing the School District, the School Board and the Danville Education Association.  The Danville Public School Foundation meets six times a year, on the second Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December.

The Board employees a staff consisting of a full-time Director and a quarter-time Coordinator.  Our offices are located at 516 North Jackson Street, Danville, IL 61832, our telephone number is 217-444-1044 and our email is schoolfoundation@danville118.org

The most important component of the Danville Public School Foundation is our donors.  It is their commitment to the students attending Danville Public Schools that makes dreams come true.
